A California man with a “420” head tattoo who is accused of decapitating a female relative and fleeing the scene with her head has been arrested in San Francisco, according to police.

Luis Aroyo-Lopez, 24, was busted at the Transbay Terminal around 7:30 am Saturday morning after San Francisco Police officers recognized him from a description of a suspect wanted for murder in Santa Rosa, KRON reported.

The arrest comes after a frantic search for Aroyo-Lopez after Santa Rosa Police discovered a woman’s decapitated body inside a residence in the 2500 block of Pomo Trail around 3:40 pm on Thursday.

The woman’s head was missing, and police believe Aroyo-Lopez had taken it with him when he left the grisly scene on foot, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Police have not said whether or not the victim’s head has been recovered since his arrest.

Police said the woman, who has not yet been identified, is Aroyo-Lopez’s relative, although her relationship to him was not immediately clear.

After he was identified as a suspect considered “armed and dangerous,” police released a photo of him, revealing his noticeable tattoo of “420” and a marijuana leaf on the left side of his head.

Aroyo-Lopez was recently released from state prison and placed on Postrelease Community Supervision. He was formerly incarcerated for assault with a deadly weapon and weapons possession charges in an unrelated incident, police said.

Additional information about his arrest is forthcoming, police said.
